Finding the best binoculars for hunting is definitely a difficult task. Regardless of the fact that you are an experienced hunter or you just started in the niches, you must identify the one product that suits your needs.

When opting for a pair of binoculars, you have to consider your level of expertise, the quality you’re looking for, as well as your budget. It takes as little as $100 to buy some decent binoculars that provide a high-quality image, satisfying magnification and lightweight. However, if you want a high-tech gadget, then you can prepare to pay more than $2000.

Most of the items we’re about to discuss, have impressive features but you shouldn’t let them sweep you off your feet. There are certain points you need to follow and we’re going to help you with this.

High-Quality Optics with Extra Features

A regular binocular is basically meant to magnify an object, animal or sight. When it comes to the best hunting binoculars, you’ll need more than simple magnification. Features like water and fog proofing will come at hand when you are in the wilderness and you feel like hunting during the morning or when the sun sets.

Water has the nasty habit of reflecting light, so you’ll need a binocular that has an anti-reflective feature. The clearer and bright the image is, the easier it will be for you to locate your prey and hunt it down.

High Quality Optics

Comfort is important too. You can’t gaze through binoculars if you’re wearing glasses or have different diopters unless there are certain features taking care of all these aspects. The eyecups could be an inconvenient too, that’s why you’ll be searching for adjustable eyecups in every binocular.

Your eyes shouldn’t be exposed to any type of discomfort because otherwise they will get tired fast and keep you from your beloved hunting activities. So far, comfort and the clearest image quality are characteristics that you can’t settle without.

Since you will probably wander for hours, you have to think about the weight of the binocular, as well as about its ability to stay in your hands and not slip. In the following top 7, you’ll find various binoculars that weigh more or less.

If the rugged design fits you most, then it will probably have a rubber coat that will stop it from slipping. In addition, a comfortable strap is also a must-have. Some binoculars may be adapted to tripods, a fact that might be helpful if you don’t move around too much.

Best Products Worth Your Money

The best hunting binoculars for the money are listed below, but the choice is only up to your preferences and your exact needs. There is a lot of technical information that is also thoroughly explained to make sure you purchase the right one. If you are an experienced shooter, you might want to jump to number 7!

  • Flip Down Lens Caps are part of its design, ensuring protection
  • Categorized as an extreme usage item, this binocular is waterproof and fog proof and it’s virtually impossible for it to slip off your hands

Best use: Nikon recommends this binocular to any outdoor enthusiast. Since it is waterproof and fog proof it can be used in extreme weather conditions. To observe nature or see what’s ahead before you get there, this binocular comes with a magnification maximum of 8 that is perfect for hunting.

Description: The Nikon 7576 MONARCH 5 8×42 Binocular comes with a compact design and it is lightweight. Besides being easy to carry, it provides a rare image quality. Nature lovers who admire tiny insects or birds that fly are very pleased, as well as hunters.

They enjoy the premium ED Glass that doesn’t alter the colors in any way. Based on a state of the art optical system, this binocular can provide a natural looking image thanks to the Dielectric High-Reflective Multilayer Prism Coatings.

What you’ll get is maximum resolution packed in an easy to use design. Besides being easy to use, it is also comfortable to look through for an extended period of time. Two of its characteristics are important for comfort, namely the long eye-relief and the turn-and-slide rubber eyecups.

What makes this model waterproof and fog proof are the Nitrogen fillings and the O-ring seal. The flip down lens caps are an inconvenient for multiple users, but that’s because they don’t properly wear the binocular’s strap around their necks when they use it.

After all, no one would want rain, debris, or sunlight shining directly into the lenses. As for durability, you can expect a lot from Nikon Monarch 5 as it features rubber-armored coating. This is a product that makes your money worth spending and your hunting sessions more enjoyable.

Night hunters benefit of this feature in the same way, especially those who aren’t afraid of seeing animal shadows. The large focus wheel is easy to maneuver, but some users complained they have to continuously adjust it in order to maintain focus. The ED lenses stop unwanted coloring that may be seen with normal lenses like blue coloring on white birds.

When it comes to comfort, you can rely on the two stage twist out eyecups with long eye relief. However, the padded strap that comes along with this pair of binoculars isn’t appreciated because it is considered too large. That doesn’t affect the quality of the binoculars, but it is an important overall comfort feature.

Rain or shine, the sculpted rubber armor keeps this item safe from water, fog and other impurities. The grip is slip-resistant and the Nitrogen is included in the proofing technology as well.

The only warning, do not skimp on the quality of the binoculars. It’s your vision.
Unfortunately, people tend to save for their own vision. The use of cheap binoculars, for not complying with well-known brand, can not only cause a bad mood (“crooked” image, relatively sharp only in the central part, dull colors, low contrast and different image distortion), but also damage eyesight!
Continuous operation with poor quality binoculars can cause pain in the eyes, tears, headaches, dizziness, even nausea. So please be careful.

    • Shawn Harrison

Two points – don’t skimp on the lens quality, and don’t skimp on the build quality. This is a combination that should be taken under consideration because, no one wants a binocular that will breakdown just after few months of use. The lens is also important to be premium grade because sub-par lenses do occlude the clarity of your vision.

Bought Nikon 7576 MONARCH for bird & butterfly watching. The model is specified for using in extreme conditions, so it is waterproof, has a rubber armored body for strengthened durability, which is important for me. Also, I like the eco-friendly Eco-Glass Lenses, which provide a high light transmittance across the entire visible light spectrum. Very lightweight, easy and comfortable to hold in a hand, well-known respected brand. The price is a bit high, but its worth it.

    • Shawn Harrison

I remember recommending a Monarch for a friend who loves bird and butterfly watching because it reminds me of the Monarch butterfly. While the hobby is indeed relaxing, getting that flawless view exposes your binoculars to various environmental conditions like high humidity or extreme temperatures. A great product overall.
